Sidelights and Transoms
All our Doors can have Sidelights added.
Most of our Doors can have a Transom added
Sidelights are glass windows that go on either side of doors.
Transoms are glass windows that go above doors.
Sidelights and transoms give increased light and will increase the appeal of your door.
All our Transoms and Sidelights include decorative wrought ironwork to match your door style.
The available configurations of Sidelights and Transoms are different for each door style (dimensions in inches):

The windows that go on either side of entry doors, called sidelights, can be added to all our doors - straight top, eyebrow top and arched top. However, please note that the sidelights on a full arched top door stop at the point where the arch begins. This means that these particular glass windows are not the full height of the door.
The windows that go above entry doors, called transoms. They are available on the straight top, arched and eyebrow top doors. Transoms are also available in straight, eyebrow and arched styles. Straight top doors can have all three styles of transom added. Eyebrow topped entry doors can only have an eyebrow style transom added. Arched top doors can only have an arched transom with sidelights.
Sidelights over 15" wide also open separately for ventilation and cleaning. Transoms, narrower sidelights and the sidelights on arched doors do not open separately but are built with a 4" gap between the window glass and the wrought iron work so that cleaning is easily facilitated.
These limitations to the glass windows available with our entry doors are because of the physical limitations imposed by their shapes.
