Finish Options
Entry doors must be tough as well as beautiful, because exterior front doors are subject to hard treatment and exposed to all kinds of weather.
In addition to rain, snow, freezing temperatures and baking heat, entry doors have to withstand accidental slams, all kinds of knocks and bangs, plus scuffing from boots and shoes. You can be confident that your Donatello Door will stand up to harsh conditions and poor treatment and still retain it’s beauty for a lifetime.
All our doors have NINE separate treatments for top quality durability and appearance:
1) Descaling and sand blasting to prepare surface.
2) Hot Zinc Galvanizing bonds to the steel to make a rust proof alloy.
3) 1st Rust Proof undercoat painting.
4) Epoxy slurry to fill minor imperfections.
5) 2nd Rust Proof undercoat painting
6) Base paint 1 to even color.
7) Base paint 2 to prepare for final finish.
8) Decorative faux painting (can be up to 4 separate coatings)
9) Clear-coat protective finish.

Each of our 6 styles of finish will enhance the beauty of your home. However it is what is underneath that is most important. Our exterior front doors are built from 100% pure steel that is forged and welded into a beautiful, durable work of art. Then we remove scale, smoothing the finish to perfection and preparing it for our 9 step finishing. The first step is to galvanize the whole door with hot zinc - an industrial grade treatment that is absolutely the most durable rust proofing available. After that we apply another two coats of heavy duty undercoating, followed by two layers of automotive finish that dries nail hard.
Donatello Doors does not cut corners - we save you money by cutting out the middle man and shipping wholesale entry doors direct from our factory to your location.
