There are 4 choices of opening direction with both single and double doors.

The usual direction for a residential property is inswinging.  Commercial properties are usually outswinging.

Door Installation:

It is very important to choose the correct opening direction and "hand" since it is not possible to change this after your door is made.

Please note that, since a double door has two doors with opposite opening directions, it is the first of the doors to open that determines the handing, this is called the "active" door.
